Elai Tubo - International Recording and Mix Engineer


ELAI TUBO Elai Tubo's influence in the Music Industry becomes evident when reviewing his credits with Multi-Platinum, Grammy nominated and Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Recording Artist.

His experience as an international Engineer, Record Producer, Record label, New York Radio and International Club DJ is noted; however his contribution to “The Golden Age of Hip Hop” is iconic, groundbreaking and considered legendary. Low key and Highly energetic, “Tubo” famously know as “Yo Elai, Turn up the bass...” from one of Hip Hop's 10 most influential records, Eric B and Rakim's “Paid in full”, has a list of credits which includes Hip Hop royalty Run DMC, Chuck D and Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, Jay Z, Salt N Pepa, LL Cool J, GrandMaster Flash, KRS-1, Doctor Dre, Doug E Fresh, Heavy D, Cold Crush Brother, Russell Simmons, Kurtis Blow, Cool DJ Red alert...the list goes on. He has charted success in different musical genre with Najee and Tom Browne in smooth Jazz, Ziggy Marley in Reggae, Cameo and Angie Stone in R&B as well as chart popping Dance and Techno remixes. His 32 year recording experience also includes Rock, Gospel, Pop, latin... again the list goes on. Tubo, an accomplished percussionist appreciates a meticulous work ethic and his attention to detail is evident in the numerous Ampex Golden Reel awards for audio excellence as well as his combination of 9 RIAA Gold/Platinum sales awards.

 Elai recently returned to CUNY Queens College and in the spring of 2012 received a BA in Sociology. He intends to further his education and use his knowledge of social theory in his book and Multi-Media project titled, “Secrets From the Golden Age of Hip Hop”. Tubo has also used his knowledge of the Music Industry for community outreach in constructing studios and programs for evidence-based Urban Youth Programs.
